Opening Press Conference of the Group Exhibit Hydrogen and Fuel Cells 2007
Monday, April 16, 10:00 am
at the Forum in the center of the Group Exhibit, Hall 13,
Jochen Straub, Sales Account Manager, Ballard Power Systems
Ballard changed its strategy recently and went back to its roots: fuel cell stacks, our core competency. We focus our energy towards designing and selling high quality fuel cell stacks for commercial use. In our opinion, the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Group Exhibit is THE best place to connect with European customers. Hydrogen cars will only become a true alternative for customers once they will be as good as combustion engines on every aspects. A running prototype will never be as good as a finished product, unfortunately product development is time consuming. We are planning to have the technology required for the market introduction of fuel cell vehicles ready in our lab by 2010
Dr. Horst-Tore Land, CEO, BASF Fuel Cell GmbH
The hydrogen sector is an interesting market to supply components to. We are trying hard to make our customers even more successful while using our products. To achieve this goal, components will have to become less costly and more reliable. It is without a doubt that governmental funding is necessary to accelerate this development. There should also be more incentives to make the technology even more attractive to possible investors.
Emre Kavukçu, Assistant General Manager International Business Development,
Türk DemirDöküm Fab. A.S.
We want to become one of the world-leading companies in our sector, and to succeed we need to look far into the future when it comes to R&D activities. The fuel cell business will create more revenue in the upcoming years, that is for sure! We also have to concentrate our efforts on renewable energies.
Tobias Renz, Managing Director, Tobias Renz FAIR-PR
It was with great pleasure that we increased our exhibitor base by more than 30% this year.
The new partnership between the Hannover Messe and Tobias Renz FAIR-PR has opened new possibilities. It is unfortunate however that hydrogen technology still lacks public awareness, but we hope that the new focus and international attention directed towards global warming will help publicize the sector.
