Company profile:
Advent Technologies is involved in the development, production, and commercial supply of polymers, membranes, gas diffusion electrodes, and MEAs for High Temperature PEM fuel cells. The company is headquartered in East Hartford, CT with R&D and pilot production facilities in Patras, Greece. The combination of locations offers the ability to perform cutting edge development of the technology in combination with scaled up manufacturing to support the individual needs of our partners and customers.

The Advent TPS® series of polymer electrolyte is based on pyridine based polymers that enhance the mechanical, thermal, chemical and oxidative stability. The incorporation of polar pyridine groups aids in the retention of phosphoric acid and results in high conductivity values even for low phosphoric acid content. Advent also manufactures and sells the former BASF PBI MEA “P1100W,” which we make under license from BASF. Advent’s TPS® or PBI MEAs are ideal for High Temperature PEM fuel cells operating between 150-220°C.
