Company profile:
EIFER is a European Economic Interest Grouping founded in 2001 by EDF and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The European Institute for Energy Research is located in Karlsruhe and is employing around 110 staff members of different nationalities with multi-disciplinary skills. In collaboration with international research entities, we aim at creating values for our two members and their respective partners: cities, local communities, and industries. Therefore, we are focusing on three strategic priorities to tackle the challenge of the energy transition:

• Integrated approach of sustainable city engineering based on urban system analysis, energy planning and geosimulation
• Development of local energy solutions based on renewable energy sources and high efficient distributed generation systems
• Analysis of the trends and interactions within energy systems through simulation models at different scales using a systemic
