Munich. Over 120 exhibitors from 25 countries can be seen at Europe’s biggest hydrogen and fuel cell exhibition in Hanover, Germany. At the 17th Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells in Hall 27, UK-based ITM Power (AIM: ITM) will introduce their transportable hydrogen refueling station, HFuel.

Capable of producing up to 50kg of hydrogen per day, HFuel provides a scalable solution for fueling small fleets of hydrogen internal combustion engine (HICE) vehicles, fuel cell electric vehicles and forklift trucks to 350 bar. Fifty kilograms of hydrogen could refuel up to 20 forklift trucks with standard workload or ten HICE Ford Transits with a range of 160km each. Its compact design within two standardized ISO containers (6.06m x 2.44m x 2.59m) makes for easy transportation and simple installation in as little as one day. HFuel is an attractive option for companies requiring a reliable hydrogen supply, making the hydrogen fuel at the point of use and eliminating the hydrogen supply chain. Vestas Wind Systems, DHL Supply Chain, Scottish & Southern Energy and London Stansted Airport have the opportunity to try out a 15kg/day HFuel station, as part of ITM’s Hydrogen On-Site Trials (HOST) program which commences in early 2011.

“The Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells in Hanover was the single most important event for ITM Power in 2010 and continues to be our chosen platform for showcasing our hydrogen products. The show is simply unmissable,” states Dr. Graham Cooley, CEO of ITM Power.

Fuel Cell Applications
Fueling solutions and fuel cell vehicles can be witnessed first-hand at the Group Exhibit Hydrogen + Fuel Cells in Hall 27. Other fascinating applications in Hanover include back-up and off-grid power systems. Fuel cell power applications are becoming more and more relevant for telecommunications, camping and leisure as well as industries needing uninterrupted power supply (e.g. IT, hospitals). The 5,000m² exhibition area spotlights the latest products and innovations from all sectors of this rapidly-growing industry: stationary, portable and mobile fuel cell applications, fuel cell stacks and components, test equipment for fuel cells and batteries, reformers, hydrogen production, transportation, storage and infrastructure.

Energy Mix of the Future
As the world’s biggest expo for energy technology, the Energy trade fair at HANNOVER MESSE is the ideal platform for dialog and networking. In Hanover the energy industry showcases its innovative solutions through a mixture of energy technologies. The Energy trade fair focuses on conventional and renewable power solutions as well as transmission and distribution technology. These energy topics create an optimal synergy with leading trade fairs Wind, Power Plant Technology and MobiliTec.
