Batteries added to the Group Exhibit of Hydrogen and Fuel Cells

April 08, 2013

The Group Exhibit Hydrogen and Fuel Cells at the HANNOVER MESSE will be adding the theme of Batteries to our 20th anniversary exhibition in 2014. “We realized that, in storage technologies, the fields of Batteries and Fuel Cells are overlapping each other more and more. For that reason, the broadening of our group exhibit to include Batteries is a logical step,” says the group exhibit’s organizer Tobias Renz. Already this year, several important exhibitors from the field of battery technology are represented here.

NGK Insulators is currently showing how excess solar and wind energy can be stored in batteries and used on demand. Sodium and Sulfur (NAS) batteries made by the Japanese manufacturers NGK Insulators are already delivering over 300 megawatts of power at more than 170 locations worldwide.

The company Truma Gerätetechnik from Putzbrunn near Munich equips caravans with Fuel Cell systems that use a reformer to produce electricity from liquid gas. At the HANNOVER MESSE 2013 Truma has presented a new backup system in cooperation with the largest European manufacturer of batteries, Hoppecke, Brilon.
